Statement Of Beliefs |
|
|
I believe and pledge to uphold, to the best of my God given ability, the following statement of beliefs.
1. I believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God, true God from true God, the second person of the Trinity, and the one and only Savior of the world.
2. I believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Lord of creation and history.
3. I believe that God, through Jesus Christ, conquers death and sin, brings salvation to this rebellious world, and reconciles the world to himself.
4. I believe that Jesus is the one model and power for our own freedom from the bondage of sin.
5. I believe in the inerrancy of scripture as stated in the Holy Bible and agree to follow its teachings and principles. This scripture, and only this scripture, is the boundaries of our doctrinal beliefs.
6. I will not tolerate opinions that strike at the root of the inerrancy of scripture, the teachings of Jesus and of Christianity itself.
7. I repudiate any teachings and practices that misuse principles of inclusiveness and tolerance to distort the doctrine and teachings of the Church.
8. I oppose any redefinition of the Christian faith that diminishes or eliminates the saving work of Jesus Christ in order to make dialogue with others more agreeable.
9. I reject any claim that regards the incarnation, crucifixion and resurrection as merely one salvation among others.
10. I believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father and for us to dwell with Him in Heaven forever. There is no substitute. God can not be fully known apart from Jesus Christ.
